Stories, experiences and learnings in the US
In late October 2023, I had just finished my PhD and flew to the US to start the professional adventure abroad of a lifetime. I was going to work at the Berkeley Lab as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, following up on the research I did during my PhD. Initially, I really expected nine months to feel long and I was unsure whether this whole experience would be something I enjoyed. But now, eight months later, time has flown by and I still can’t wrap my head around how fast this whole experience has been passing by. It’s been a journey with a lot of new experiences and learnings; the US and Europe are quite different in a lot of ways, but also surprisingly similar. Those are the stories I will be sharing, and hopefully it gives you some new perspective, just like this experience did for me. Every story is linked below in chronological order.
